Last night we had the pleasure of visiting Cubana Tapas Bar for a night of Cuban inspired tapas, cocktails + dancing. Read on to see why Cubana's isn't just your average tapas restaurant...
Cubana's is one of the many fantastic bars + restaurants located at Leopold Square, Sheffield. However, on a Saturday night, it's this tapas bar which stands out. With people filling up the outside drinking area, and salsa dancing across the ground floor, Cubana's seems the place to be on a weekend. The restaurant is located on the upper floor, where you can have a more chilled experience, but still get to hear the authentic music coming from downstairs.
Cubana's offers an extensive drinks menu, offering a number of fantastic cocktails. I opted for a Pina Colada (or three) and Paul went for an Espresso Martini and then the Rum Old Fashioned - all of which were delicious! Before 6pm, Sunday-Friday, Cubana's offers a Happy Hour offer with all of their Classic & Signature cocktails priced at £4.90.
Now for the main event - the tapas. The vegetarian options at Cubana's were plentiful, with lots + lots to choose from. We went for...
Patatas Bravas - Mushrooms Topped with Goats Cheese - Roasted Sweet Potato + Red Pepper
Spanish Omelette - Cheese Croquets - Garlic Focaccia - Baked Aubergine - Mushroom Risotto
Every single dish was absolutely amazing, beautifully flavoured and cooked to perfection. If I had to pick a favourite to recommend it would be a toss up between the croquets and the mushrooms with goats cheese.
The staff at Cubana's were fantastic, even with the bar and restaurant being so busy, each member of staff went out their way to have a laugh with the customers and make sure no one was waiting for too long.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday night at Cubana's, and cannot wait to return another weekend! To see their full tapas menu click here and to go to their main website to find details on how to book click here.
