My Top 5 dramas on Netflix

The colder months are nearly upon us, and what's better than cosying up on a rainy day in front of your favourite Netflix series. Below are my five favourite dramas on Netflix, that I consequently ended up binge-watching from start to finish. If you have any pressing deadlines or life commitments, you have been warned...

1. Luther
Ahhh, Idris Elba, you. Luther is a dark British crime drama, starring DCI John Luther (aka, Idris), a maverick detective, with unorthadox policing methods. There are some pretty terrifying baddies across the four series. Highlights include the entirity of Season 2, Luther beating the crap out of a door + any episode featuring Alice Morgan - Luther's murderess side-kick.

2. The Bridge
An eerie Scandi crime drama, with an equally chilling theme song. I went into this series-marathon solo (my bf wasn't into the subtitles), and had finished all 30 episodes in less than two weeks. The series sees two detectives - one Swedish, one Danish - work together, when crimes involve both countries. The plot-lines are sophisticated, complex + dark. If I was to rank these five TV dramas in order, The Bridge would probably come out top.

3. Dexter
A crime drama with a touch of comedy. With 8 seasons, it's unlikely you've not yet heard of Dexter, but for anyone who hasn't, it goes a bit like this (spoiler alert)... Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analysis for the Miami Metro Police Department, is also a vigilante serial killer with an inherent thirst for murder. You sympathise with Dexter, the self-confessed monster, and end up turning a blind-eye to his hypocritical moral code.

4. Stranger Things
This summer's most-talked about sci-fi drama, Stranger Things, had me & my partner sat in front of the TV for two consecutive nights before we had completed their first season. Eighties opening credits? Check. Creepy story line? Check. Cute kid with lisp? Check. What more do you want?

5. Prison Break
So I wasn't convinced I would enjoy Prison Break when my boyfriend first mentioned it, but oh lord, I was so hooked! It does get a bit ridiculous at points - I mean, how many times can one person break out of prison?! However, the characters are fantastic and I can't wait for season five to start! Expect lots of plot twists + smoldering looks from main character, Michael Scofield (see above).

If you've not already checked these amazing shows out, definitely do! What Netflix shows would you recommend?
