HD Brows: Worth the money?

The Brow Lounge HD brows worth the money review

Being a natural blonde, dying my hair has always involved an eyebrow tint to match. So when HD brows became "a thing" a few years back, I didn't really understand what the difference was between my usual wax and tint, and the new, fancy HD brows. Essentially, I thought "why pay an extra £10 for the same thing more or less?" A couple of weeks back I was invited to The Brow Lounge to give HD brows a whirl. The lovely ladies at The Brow Lounge had quite the challenge in convincing me that HD brows are worth the extra cost - read on to see how they got on...

The Brow Lounge

The Brow Lounge owner, Katie, and her fellow brow queens specialise in HD brows, LVL lashes, Sienna spray tans + professional make up, all available in their boutique setting down the popular Ecclesall Road. Their transformations are pretty amazing (pictures of mine below!), and they offer a service which is both friendly and professional.

So, What's The Difference?

A usual wax and tint would cost around £15, but HD brows will set you back £25 - so what are the main differences between the two? Well, I would say one of the biggest differences is the precision, thought + care that goes into creating HD brows. The process starts with a consultation, which involves your beauty specialist asking you what you want. For me this is so essential to any beauty treatment - I think we've all experienced a time when your hairdresser or beautician has not been on the same wave length as you, always ending with pretty disastrous results.

After this consultation, your brows are then tinted, adding definition to your brows and making them look instantly fuller. Note: if you're a victim of the 00's over-plucked look, there is still hope yet! This is followed by a series of waxing, plucking AND threading - what did I say about the level of precision? The threading is done to blend the hair from your brows, up across your forehead. Without this, make up can sit weirdly around your eyebrows where all the little facial hairs have been waxed off completely. SO. MUCH. THOUGHT.

The Finishing Touches...

At this point your brows are looking pretty amazing, however if you're anything like me, the skin around the brows is looking a little worse for wear. Thankfully, HD has a range of mineral make up which can actually be used straight after waxing, covering up some of the redness. Your HD expert also fills in your brows with a range of different HD powders + pencils, to whatever your preferences are.

The Verdict...

I'm seriously impressed by both The Brow Lounge and HD brows. I think that the care these girls put into making your brows look amazing is worth the extra time and money. They take into consideration what you want, and even if it's not achievable straight away, they work with you over a series of treatments to achieve the look that you want.

Fancy it for yourself? The Brow Lounge have very kindly offered my readers a 20% discount when quoting Prime and Dine. To book, call 0114 4536188 or you can book online through their website.
