The Body Shop #HighStreetDaresToMask Event

Events are definitely a plus side of blogging, especially when you get to try new + exclusive products. Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to The Body Shop's event, showcasing a brand new range of face masks for all different skin types! During the event we got to learn about the new masks, as well as have a play around with some old favourites...

I absolutely adore the scrubs + body butters from The Body Shop, so I headed straight over to the Spa of the World station, where one of The Body Shop experts talked me through the range. These products were designed to be a more indulgent option for those wanting a more luxurious fragrance and feel. After trying the African Ximenia + Dead Sea Salt scrubs, my skin felt sooooo soft! The Dead Sea Salt scrub is definitely the more exfoliating of the two, so if you prefer a more gentle buff, then the African Ximenia is a great option.

I also tried out the Hawaiian Kukui + Japanese Camellia creams, which were equally as beautiful. There was a lot of hype around the Camellia cream, which is infused with floral essential oils to lightly moisturise the skin. I ended up buying myself a big tub - I can't wait to give it a try!

Another new range was introduced to us during the event - the Down To Earth eye shadow palettes! We were shown how to create different looks - either cut crease, smokey or natural. The palettes range from £15-£22 which is pretty good value!

Across the other side of the store, some bloggers were having a lovely foot pamper by skincare expert Charlotte. I picked up a lot from the Peppermint foot care range in my last Body Shop haul, and this event definitely prompted me to have my own little foot pamper when I got home!

Blogging lovelies: Leanne from LEM + Aimee from Aimee Hughes trying out some of the new face masks!

And now the bit you've all been waiting for - the brand new face masks! We were lucky enough to have an exclusive look + try of the 5 new masks, as well as the new face mask application brush. Here's what we learnt...

Chinese Ginseng + Rice - perfect for cleansing + clarifying the skin. The rice helps to exfoliate the skin, lifting dirt + oil from within the pores, as well as buffing away any dead skin, to reveal brighter + softer skin! The ginseng is also great for giving you beautiful glowing skin!

Malaysian Charcoal - this mask is better for those wanting to mattify their skin, and can be used in specific, targeted areas (for me, it would be my nose!). The charcoal absorbs any excess oil, whilst the tea tree has an antibacterial effect on the skin. There are also antioxidant green tea leaves, which act as the exfoliant in the mask.

Ethiopian Honey - an amazing mask for dryer skin types. As well as being extremely nourishing for the skin, honey also has an antibacterial effect on the skin - making it perfect for my dry but spot-prone skin! This mask also contains moisturising olive oil and antioxidant rich marula oil.

British Rose - designed to plumpen the skin, this mask contains rosehip oil, rich in fatty omega acids + antioxidants. There's also soothing aloe vera + rose petals in this mask - definitely a favourite from the range for me!

Amazonian Acai - before the event, the only time I'd ever heard about acai was for weight loss, so I was intrigued to see it appear in a face mask! Acai contains vitamins A, C + E, which makes it amazing for improving the health of your skin, which can make it appear more glowing. There is also guarana seed extract in this mask to gently exfoliate the skin.

The new face masks launch tomorrow on the 22nd August, so head down to your local Body Shop, or online to get your hands on one! Don't forget to tag your face mask selfies - #highstreetdarestomask. Which one will you try?
