Lush Mouthwash: Bath bombs for your mouth?

Lush are known for their innovative, cruelty-free creations, from shower jellies to solid shampoo - even face masks so fresh, you have to keep them in your fridge! So it comes as no surprise that they are the inventors of the first ever solid mouthwash...

Something that sets Lush apart from the competition is that it cares about its impact on the environment. Lush prides itself on making as many solid beauty products as possible. If something is solid, it often requires much less packaging, meaning less waste is sent to landfill, and being more compact means less CO2 emissions are needed to transport the product to its destination!

Solid at Lush also means that the product is self-preserving. This basically means that no synthetic preservatives are needed to keep the product fresh - it can stay preserved all by itself! Moving on from the amazing ethical benefits of Lush's solid mouthwash, let's see if the product actually works...

Having a little smell of each of the cute tester mugs, I went for the flavour Creme de Menthe - a peppermint + menthol crystals concoction - which I'd say is the most conventional flavour on offer. The other two are lemon-flavoured Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, and Ugai, a Japanese-inspired blend of green tea, sea salt + tea tree.

How do you use them? Well, they're basically mini bath bombs for your mouth. Put a tab in your mouth, take a sip of water, feel it fizz away, and then swish + gargle.

My mouth felt really clean after using Creme de Menthe, and my breath was minty fresh. I think Ugai would be amazing if you suffer from mouth ulcers, and Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster if you're not a fan of conventional mint-flavoured mouthwash.

If you want to try a Lush solid mouthwash for yourself, you can get them exclusively online or at their flagship store on Oxford Street. Alternatively, you can wait until the mouthwashes are rolled out to all European stores!

Which flavour will you try?
