A Home From Home

This week I started my new job! The new role requires me to travel around the UK and Ireland, and my first visit has been to Stirling, Scotland. Whilst an amazing opportunity, I was a little nervous about swapping my lovely apartment and boyfriend for a hotel room and laptop screen for five days a week. However, I received some pretty golden advice the other day: to make all the various hotel rooms into a home from home during every visit. Here's what I've bought to do just that...

Initial Mug // Sass & Belle // £6.95

I'm a huge fan of Sass & Belle, ever since my first visit was to their Covent Garden store during Christmas time a few years back. I've decorated my home with Sass & Belle accessories, with everything from paper garlands at Christmas time to a hanging jewelry holder. This mug not only looks super cute, but will also help my hotel stints to have a more personal touch.

Kiwi + Apricot Candle // Within Reason // £4.25

In my apartment in Sheffield, there are an abundance of candles scattered across every room. So it makes sense that this was the first thing on my mind when thinking of how to make a hotel room more "homely". This particular candle smells as good as it sounds, and is perfect for Spring. Within Reason can be found on Division St, Sheffield and sells a number of handmade and delectable candles, among other cute kitsch.

Fabulous Flowers Colouring Book // T.K. Maxx // £4.99

Pretty much everyone has heard about this latest hype: adult colouring. Perfect for those days when I need to shut down from work, and push out any worries attempting to swarm my brain. If you're someone who struggles to switch off from their anxieties, I would definitely consider investing in a pack of Crayola and a colouring book!

I'm hoping this helps me feel more at home and relaxed on my nights away from Sheffield. If not, at least the hotel rooms I'm in will smell amazing.

  1. So cute. Hope your first week has gone well. I would have to take a blanket with me wherever I went because I'm like a little old lady with them at home xxx

    1. Thank you! It went really well, I'm in Crawley as of tomorrow so we'll see how that goes! The blanket is a shout - I just need a bigger suitcase xo
