Some good news, a change around + a restaurant with pizzaz

Hello there! I've been a bit MIA as of late, so I felt it was important to say why, and to let you all know what is cracking off at Prime + Dine...

The big news is that I have been offered a new job! This has required travelling to London and Cambridge for interviews, as well as using all my spare time to prepare for each stage of the application process. And the travelling won't stop there, as the new position requires me to be all over the UK & Ireland on a day to day basis!

I was also busy organising a blog event (for a great post of the evening, check out Shannon Alexandra), which meant my own blog took a back seat. Boo.

Having some time away from blogging made me realise I needed a bit of a change up here at Prime + Dine. This included getting rid of the 'Fashion' tag as this is something that I'm not really that enthused about and to put it bluntly: I'm not that fashionable. The new 'Food' category of posts fits my interests much more, and I plan to do a lot more baking/cooking how-to posts, as well making sure to write more restaurant reviews for you guys! I guess that's what the early days of a blog is all about, finding what you enjoy writing about and tweaking your blog to match.

Celebrating with 2-4-1 Bellini's
And, following on from this change, here is a short review of the brilliant Ego Mediterranean, Sheffield. Ego offers a multitude of different dishes from all around the Med', in a setting which offers both style and substance. Located on Surrey Street in Sheffield City Centre, you can find this eatery next door to the Winter Gardens. With lots of things to celebrate - my new job, my partner finishing his last ever university assignment and, of course, the beautiful weather - we paid Ego a visit couple of Monday's ago.

The waitress talked us round into having a starter of garlic bread with mozzarella, which was a seriously good recommendation. I adored my main consisting of a halloumi and mixed vegetable kebab, with tortillas and dips on the side, whilst my partner devoured his stonebaked pizza.

The food at Ego was beautiful, but the service was even better. For me, whether it's in a shop, restaurant or hotel, good customer service is a must. There have been times when I've been wowed with a restaurant's food but have never returned purely because of rude staff. Thankfully, with Ego, this was definitely not the case.

We had a starter, main and desserts, plus drinks, and the total bill came to less than fifty quid! I think for a restaurant of this class, that price is pretty amazing. One of the reasons for the reasonably priced bill is that we had 25% off the main menu, which you can get by signing up to their newsletter here.

So yeah - a bit of news, a blog refurb and a restaurant review to get the ball rollin'. Have you ever taken your blog down a new path? Comment below or Tweet me at @primeanddine. Until next time!
