Grounded Body Scrub

Afternoon everyone! I hope you've all enjoyed the weekend, but if you had a bit too much fun + your skin could do with some TLC, then I've got the perfect antidote. Grounded Body Scrub was a brand I first saw on Dragon's Den, when Essex couple Tasha Harris + Lloyd Hazell successfully convinced Sarah Willingham to invest £30,000 in their coffee based scrub. The duo created the exfoliator to help cure Tasha's eczema, and saw great potential in the product. I was later reminded of Grounded by a friend, who showed me the scrub when I was visiting for the evening. The smell had me hooked + on my friend's recommendation, I went out to buy a pack for myself the next day.

Grounded Body Scrubs use Robusta coffee, which is higher in acidity + caffeine than your average cup of Joe. The caffeine supposedly pulls the fat out of skin cells, which is said to reduce cellulite. Himalayan rock salt is added to help treat eczema + other skin conditions. The body scrubs are also packed full of vitmain E rich ingredients, which fight free radicals, and are believed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks + fine lines.

Being a huge fan of tropical fragrances, I picked up a bag of the Coconut Body Scrub (£15) from my local Boots store. The packaging is designed to look like an actual bag of coffee, which looks amazing but isn't the most practical as it easily gets wet in the shower! The packet has a seal at the top to prevent any moisture seeping into the bag + to ensure the scrub stays nice and fresh.

The directions say to massage the exfoliator onto your skin, leave for 10 minutes and then wash off. First of all, the scrub smells phenomenal - the coffee + coconut combined is amazing, and it made my bathroom smell great (and confused my boyfriend greatly). The product made my skin wonderfully soft and brighter. I did also use this scrub on my face, as their Instagram suggests, but as a warning to more sensitive skin types, my skin didn't react too well to it so I'll be using this product mainly on the rest of my body. However, as of a few days ago, Grounded released three new scrubs specifically designed for the face - Coconut + Lime, Sweet Orange and Lemon + Tea Tree - which I'll have to try out!

Overall I'm super impressed with this product and would recommend it! Cons include the mess, the packaging, the price + the fact it's not suitable for my facial skin type. However, the pros - the fragrance, the feel, the fact it is cruelty free + the innovativeness of the product - make it a worthy purchase.
