Marmadukes Cafe Deli

On the cobbled side streets of Sheffield lies a number of cute and cosy eateries, pubs + bars. A great example is Marmadukes Cafe Deli, found just off Fargate, at 22 Norfolk Row. Marmadukes serves homemade food, made from locally sourced + fresh ingredients, as well as the finest freshly brewed coffee from around the globe.

This year my partner and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day by paying the lovely Marmadukes a visit, and were not disappointed. The staff are super friendly, the cafe itself is quaint + charming, and the food is beaut.

On Sundays, breakfast is served all day, so I went for the Vegetarian Full English (£9) which is comprised of halloumi cheese, avocado, fried egg, roasted tomato, mushrooms, homemade beans + toasted rye bread. I can conclude that halloumi for breakfast is definitely the way forward, and now I can feel no shame in having it all day, every day.

Seeing as it's Valentine's Day, we decided to treat ourselves to some of the freshly baked + generously sized slices of cake on display. We went for a dark chocolate + caramel tart, and a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (£4 each). And have no fear, if you struggle to finish, the lovely staff at Marmadukes are happy to provide a box to take home any left overs - which is pretty great because the food is just too good to leave!

It's always good to support your local businesses, and when one is as fab as Marmadukes, there's no reason not to.
